Our last day, boo! The boat had moved to Wheeler Reef, back on the Barrier Reef. We jumped in before breakfast. There was great visibility and we immediately saw some big rays in the sand. We swam up into some coral channels for a while. It was a relatively tame site, but nice for the last one. Back on the boat we decided to make that our last dive. We had breakfast, gave cards to other divers, and then started to pack up the room. We washed gear and laid stuff out on the top deck to dry.

| We settled up with Matt and Randy burned some CDs for people whose memory cards he had been downloading during the week. Then we identified some fish from the books in the lounge. We flipped gear in the sun as the boat travelled back to Townsville. As we got almost into port we took pictures of the divers and crew. As we left the boat we said goodbye to the crew, they had made our week totally enjoyable! We had no solid plans for dinner, so we suggested the Pier Restaurant on other side of harbor area, not sure if anyone else who was staying in town for the night would join us. | |||||||

| We checked into the hotel, reviewed pictures, picking out the best ones. Around 4:45 we headed to restaurant. It looked like a nice place, with a great view. The music that was playing as we entered was the X-Files theme, which was weird enough until it got stuck in a loop. Margaret, Mark and Marcel arrived, and we were very happy to see them. We all had an excellent dinner watching the sun set. After dessert we said goodbye and wished them all well. Then we walked back to hotel and watched Alien vs. Predator. It was silly but marginally entertaining. We set a wake-up call for 4:10am (ack!). | |||||||
