After breakfast we packed up all of our dive gear and clothes, then said goodbye to Fred as he headed out for his morning dive. Katie saw us off as our taxi picked us up for the airport. At the airport we checked in and headed through security. At the x-ray machine the security guard told Randy he couldn't take all of his rechargeable batteries through. Since our luggage was already headed to the plane, this was a bit of a problem! Fortunately a group of 6 teenage girls came to his rescue, each offering to take a pack of 4 batteries through security and hand them to him on the other side. The crazy part of this 'rule' was that there were batteries for sale near the gate!
We had a short two hour flight to Houston, then a much longer 4 hour flight to San Francisco. We were both really ready to be home by the end of the flight!
Epilogue
Yet another great dive trip. It was very different being on land and taking small boats out to the dive sites, since we've been used to liveaboards. In some ways it was a nice change to have the trip be a bit more relaxed, but we do really enjoy the 5 dives per day of a liveaboard. Our next trip is to Coco Island, off the coast of Costa Rica, in September. We're really looking forward to it!
