Saturday - January 11, 2025
Got an early start, headed north. Fueled up the vehicles, Rick and Jim went ahead for bagels. Met up in Crescent City, then drove north to Brookings. Got off the highway for a detour down to the water. Randy & Rick drove north, Jim made some stops along the way. Picked up a Ford Flex in Reedsport, then checked in to the Port of Siuslaw Campground in Florence. Did a site switch to have a nose in site with no one around. Great view out the window. Went for a walk to the cute downtown. Jim got the kids some puzzles, then we made a dinner reservation at Waterfront Depot. At 7:20 we walked back over for a tasty dinner. Then back to the RV for some TV and then bed.
Sunday - January 12, 2025
Got up early, drove north just after sunrise to Yachats to look for agates on the beach; only found a few small ones because the tide was really high. Drove up to The Drift Inn for a tasty breakfast. Said goodbye to Jim who headed north to Seattle in the Evoque. Drove back to Florence, then out to Sweet Creek Falls Trail. Great hike with waterfalls all the way. Bridge was out so we walked back along the road, then drove back to the RV. Relaxed for the afternoon. At 6:30 we headed back over to Waterfront Depot for another tasty dinner.
