Redwoods and Oregon Coast

Packed up the Buzz, headed to SFO. Picked up Jim at 9:30, drove back to the city to VW SF. Picked up the Evoque, drove out to Antioch. Transferred gear to the RV, headed north with Randy in the RV and Jim and Rick in the Evoque. Stopped in Santa Rosa at Whole Foods, then fueled up the RV. Headed north into the redwoods. Arrived at Redcrest Resort just after dark. Set up the RV under the trees, Jim made a tasty bean soup.

After breakfast we headed south along the Avenue of the Giants to the Founder's Grove. Walked through marveling at the giant trees. Drove south all the way to the south end of AOTG. Headed back to Redcrest for lunch. Woman in the gift shop told us about a giant tree that we should see - The Stratosphere Tree. After lunch we drove about 5 miles west to find it. Walked across the river on a big log, then a short walk to one of the biggest trees we've ever seen. The whole grove had so many giant redwoods. Back in the RV we enjoyed some "Vacation House Rules" before bed.
