After breakfast in the hotel, we met Carlos in front of the hotel with his open-roof electric tub tuk. We had a great 2-hour tour around the city and across to Gaia. Carlos had lots of great information about the cities, really fun. He dropped us at Mercado do Bolhão, a food market with lots of vendors. We had some port wine, some tapas, and some cheese and nuts. We bought some canned fish, then walked up and down one of the main shopping streets and then back to the hotel. We booked a massage for Rick and a mani-pedi for Julia, then rested for a while. We met at 6:45 in the hotel lobby bar, had some fun Prohibition-inspired drinks. Then we moved over to Le Monumental for Julia's first Michelin-starred meal.

Le Monumental

We started with a lemon bite presented by the chef in the kitchen. We continued with a team of 4 different servers presenting us with a dozen amazing courses over the span of 4 hours. Very creative, lots of amazing flavors. A very successful dinner! Then it was time for bed.
