Sunday - January 21, 2024Newport /Yachats/Florence
Rick went for an early swim, then just after 9 we packed up the RV. Rick headed to the store and met Randy in the RV at the Newport Aquarium. It was our second visit. It's a small aquarium but it has some great exhibits. We especially liked the aviary with the puffins. We basically had the entire underwater exhibit to ourselves; lots of sharks and bait balls.
Headed south to Yachats where we scored parking for the RV and had lunch at the Drift Inn, great little eclectic restaurant and hotel. Another half hour of driving brought us to Florence and the Port of Siuslaw Marina and RV Park. Had a nose in site with the bay right out the window. Hunkered down and listened to the rain for the afternoon. Finished Fall of the House of Usher, so good! Had dinner and then bed with some strong winds outside.
Monday - January 22, 2024Florence
Rick did an early swim, Randy did a Zoom workout. Afterwards Randy did some 3D printing and coding. Around noon we drove into town for lunch at Mari's Kitchen, great food! Relaxed listening to the rain, then Rick decided to head back to the pool (his earlier swim had beed cut short by the water aerobics class, boo!) and Randy did some organizing and worked on this journal. Around 6 we drove over to The Depot for a nice dinner in a cozy space. Then it was back to the RV for some TV and bed.
