Could see smoke from wildfires in the distance, but not in our path. Found our site, our first "dry camping" site that was on BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land. Had the whole area (and valley) to ourselves. Ran the generator to run the A/Cs, worked well. About an hour before sunset we took the ebikes for a 6 mile ride to the Painted Hills. Beautiful in the golden sunset.

Woke up early, headed back out on the bikes to the Painted Hills again just after sunrise. Great ride with nice light, not as impressive as sunset though. Packed up, slowly made our way from the dirt to the pavement, then headed west.
Bit of haze from the fires, but once again, not in our path. Arrived at Tamolich Blue Pool. Parked the RV, did a (hot) hour hike to the pool. Beautiful, worth the hike. As we drove east we could see way more smoke in the air behind us where we had just been. Drove into Bend and checked in to Crown Villa RV Resort. Really nice park with huge sites, lots of trees. More class A motorhomes in one place than we'd seen before.

Did zoom workouts, packed up and headed south. Turned west and drove past Diamond Lake on our way to Tokatee Falls. Found a spot to park the RV not far from the trailhead. 20 minute walk took us along the roaring river to an overlook platform, very spectacular. Stopped at Clear Lake Falls on the way back in the RV. Small falls, no one else there. Drove back east and then south to Collier Memorial State Park. Had a nice pull through site in the trees. Took a look at the river, but it was hot and a bit smoky, so we stayed in the RV.

Woke up, had breakfast. Decided that since the air quality (140) and temperature (109º) at our intended stop for the night were too high that we'd just drive straight home. Packed up and hit the road around 9am. After filling up the Penguin Express and cleaning the windshield, we headed south. Made good time, especially once we got to I-5. Rick took a turn driving for a bit. Right after Randy started driving again he missed a turn. Caused us to traverse some really terrible and narrow roads through the delta. Finally made it to the RV storage facility around 3:30. Transferred clothes and food to the Evoque, then headed home, arriving about an hour later! Done!
