Craig & Doug's Ranch

Last mile was a narrow dirt road along the river. Navigated a very tight turn into their property, managed to park "The Leviathan", as Craig called it. Got the RV settled, then they took us for a tour of the property in their ATV. It's a 600 acre ranch shaped like a "T", with the long edge along the Salmon River. Beautiful hills and pastures. We floated down the river with Doug for an hour around 4pm. Then they made us a tasty pork chop dinner that we ate on their porch.

Rick went with Doug for his morning walk. Took the ATV up to the Ghost town at the edge of the property. Continued up over 2000' around the mountain. Saw lots of abandoned mining structures. Awesome views, very steep hillsides. Set up "The Cactus Café", Randy made stir fry chicken for dinner.

After breakfast we took the ATV to the other end of the property and did some fishing. Rick caught two trout. Randy flew the drone. As Doug was getting the boat ready for the lake for the following day he discovered a rattlesnake underneath! He trapped it with a rake and Craig chopped off the head (Their dog Summer and people walking around dictated not just relocating the snake). Randy cooked chili for dinner.

Rick joined Doug for his morning walk. Hooked their boat up to the ATV and headed up into the hills to The Small Lake. Paddled out and did some fishing. Rick and Randy caught 5 trout. Mmmmm dinner! Back at the ranch Craig & Doug cooked us a tasty trout dinner which we ate out on the porch. Amazing views for dinner!

More projects, Randy added automatic lights in the closet. Went to the farmers market and grocery store with Doug. Added slide outs in the kitchen RV cabinets. Cleaned the bike storage bins, adjusted the e-bikes. Took the 4 e-bikes for a spin around the property, everyone enjoyed them. Randy noticed a missing bolt and bent sway bar bracket under the RV. With a sledge hammer and a trip to Ace Hardware the bracket was beaten back into shape. Rick took the ATV back up to the Ghost Town for some more photos. Had delicious chorizo stuffed peppers for dinner on the porch. Reminisced with Craig & Doug, we've known them for 20+ years!
