Epilogue
We had wanted to go to Africa for a long time and we were not disappointed. We had a fantastic time and saw so many different animals and landscapes. Dan and Assana were, once again, great traveling companions. We all giggled and laughed all the time. The four of us are quite sure we'll be headed back to Africa some time in the not too distant future!

Equipment
Two days before we left for the trip, a pair of brand new Nikon D300s arrived. We were nervous about taking brand new equipment on such a remote trip, but definitely glad we did. They performed wonderfully, rendering images that were incredibly true to life in almost any condition. After a bit of setup on the cameras before we left, we shot the vast majority of the images (over 5600) handheld, on automatic. It was really amazing!
Photography - one Nikon D300 with Nikon 18-200 VR lens, one Nikon D300 with Nikon 80-400 VR lens, two 16GB Sandisk CF memory cards.
Video - Panasonic SD5 High Definition camcorder, three 8GB SD memory cards.
Computer - 17" MacBook Pro with 4GB RAM and a 250GB hard drive. One 300GB Fujitsu external backup drive. Aperture and iMovie were used for all of the photography, video and web journal work.
